White County has continuously elected republicans to local, state, and national offices with high numbers since the 2000 presidential election.  In 2000, President Bush received 69% of the vote and 78% of the vote in 2004 in White County.  In 2002 Senator Saxby Chambliss and Governor Sonny Perdue received 63% of White County’s vote and Governor Sonny Perdue received 75% of the county’s vote in 2006. In 2004, Senator Johnny Isakson received 75% of the vote.  Since 2002, the Republican’s presence in local government has also seen a steady increase.  Republicans hold all three County Commission seats and three of the five seats on the Board of Education.  The White County Republican Party looks forward to the 2008 elections.

The White County Republican Party meets on the third Monday night of each month at 6:30 p.m. at West Family Restaurant. The meetings are open to the public and all individuals who believe in the principles of the Republican Party are urged to attend. For more information contact Chairman Kristy Hammond above.
