Over 200 loyal Republicans from the 9th Congressional District of Georgia came
together on April 18, 2009, for their district Convention in beautiful Jasper at the Appalachian Technical Institute.
The event featured a number of elected officials in the Georgia House and Senate.The keynote address for the convention was given by Senator Johnny Isakson. The keynote address for the Friday night banquet was given by our Congressman Nathan Deal. Text of speech soon to be posted here.

2009 District Convention Wrap-up

As 9th District Republicans gathered for the 2009 Return to Principles Banquet and the Saturday convention last weekend, we entered with the most Republican elected officials in our party’s history. The weekend was a time to reflect on our recent success, celebrate our current status, and prepare for the 2010 election cycle that is much closer than any of us would like to imagine.

Resolution Honoring Mary Ellen Childree

1 - 2. Sen. Pearson presents Senate Resolution to Dr. Bob Childree and family members. Rep. Tom Graves and Sheila Auffrey participates in the presentation. 3. Chairman Kevin Harris joins in the presentation to the Childree family. 4. Dr. Bob Childree graciously accepts the resolution and says, "Last Thursday I took her keys off the holder and looked at the WWJD thing and got a start! It didn't say WWJD, it said DWJW!!! Mary Ellen had taken it apart and reconfigured it! And then I realized that she was never content just figuring out what Jesus would do, she had to DO WHAT JESUS WOULD! So I removed it from her key chain and placed it on mine, because now I know exactly what Mary Ellen Would Do."
