Washington After Dark

Owner or Zohery Tours International, Ali Zohery, delighted and informed us on items of history in Washington, D.C. on Saturday evening, March 20, 2004. It was amazing all that this man, an immigrant from Egypt who came to this country in the 80's, had at this fingertips.

His is truly the American success story for anyone willing to work HARD, educate himself, and live within his means. After coming to this country he secured a job in the tour business, went to college part time and received his MBA a few years ago. He is due to receive his PHD in Mass Communications in May from Howard University. During all of this time he was able to gradually buy some busses and vans and set up his company. This did not come easily and required many hours of dedicated work and determination.

His enthusiasm for American History was very obvious, and he relayed facts and figures about each building and monument which you seldom see in textbooks. During the four-hour night tour we felt that we had an American history lesson that one does not receive very often any more.

Question.  Why is it that so many hard working immigrants can accomplish these feats when so many of our native born citizens are unwilling to work this hard? Could it just be that we have engrained into their "education" the entitlement attitude?
